Today I’m talking about the importance of family and family bonding time. I feel overwhelmingly appreciative of my family. Holiday Weekends always make me think of family. Probably because they involve some type of family bonding experience. There is an ongoing joke in my family about how the family that (insert activity) stays together. This little saying stems from – The family that prays together stays together. We use this phrase for everything good and bad in our lives we do together.
For example, while eating gross buffet style meals with the entire family I usually glance over at someone seated next to me, roll my eyes, and say – The family that gets food poisoning together stays together. These little jokes are all in good fun of course.
If you are fortunate enough to have family to lean on enjoy every moment you have with them. Enjoy the good, the bad, and the ugly. Arguing with family is something that completely breaks my heart. I don’t argue with family, ever, and that is the truth. Yes, they each try my patience at times but that is to be expected. The people I’m fortunate enough to call family are more important than a disagreement.
I’m also fortunate enough to have friends who are as close as family. I have a handful of people I’ve been blessed to call friends for almost my entire life. I couldn’t envision my life without each of them. Take time this week to enjoy the people in your life you can call a friend, family, or both. These are the people who need you and you need them. Soak these moments up like sunshine.
