Mixing Frayed Hems with Warm Tones
How many of you remember destroying the hems of your jeans in high school? Come one, be honest. The more worn the hems were the cooler the pair of jeans. Flash forward, and I’m loving present day frayed hems. I love mixing warm tones and frayed hem denim. Polished distressed denim is one of favorite looks. I know that sounds like a double standard and in some ways it probably is. When I wear distressed denim I want it to be the adult form of distressed. Meaning, I can dress it up and I don’t have to worry about exposing any body parts.
That is exactly what I wanted to accomplish with this look. I wanted a great fitting pair of jeans (sadly, this fit seems to have been discontinued and is limited, but I’m linking a similar fit below) with a touch of distressed mixed in. I added this burnt orange cardigan with cognac booties to capture warm vibes. The weather and scenery in my area has been beautiful and I wanted my outfit to capture the fall vibes around me.
Once again, I opted for no distracting accessories (belt & bag). This sweater had pockets. So obviously, I needed my hands in my pockets and not on a bag.
I’m linking similar style and fit items below. Enjoy!
